Answer Capsule
Savaria holds a measurable but limited position in AI-generated stairlift recommendations for September 2026, with valid recommendation coverage of 2.71% across 442 qualified observations. The brand appears in 11.09% of qualified observations but converts only a small share of that presence into actual recommendations. Savaria's clearest strength is its framing quality, with a net sentiment score of 0.3878 and zero negative mentions. Its clearest weakness is recommendation conversion: the brand earns 12 valid recommendations against 49 total mentions, and its rank-one rate sits at 0.45%. The clearest opportunity is closing the gap between presence and recommendation credit in the brand recommendation cluster.

Executive Summary
Savaria operates in a stairlift category where AI recommendation power is concentrated among a small group of brands. The September 2026 LLM Authority Index benchmark shows Bruno leading with 29.41% valid recommendation coverage, followed by Harmar at 25.79%, Stannah at 23.76%, and AmeriGlide at 21.49%. Savaria sits eighth of ten tracked brands at 2.71% coverage, ahead of only 101 Mobility at 1.81% and Mobility Plus at 0.00%.
The gap between Savaria's presence and its recommendation conversion is the central finding. Savaria appears in 11.09% of qualified observations, which places it behind Acorn Stairlifts at 24.89% presence. However, Savaria converts only 12 of those appearances into valid recommendations, producing a coverage rate of 2.71%. The brand is visible in AI answers but is rarely selected as a recommended option.
Savaria's framing quality is a genuine positive. The brand recorded 19 positive mentions, 30 neutral mentions, and zero negative mentions across the September 2026 measurement period. Its net sentiment score of 0.3878 is positive, though lower than category leaders Bruno at 0.5714, Stannah at 0.5963, and Handicare at 0.5856. The absence of negative framing suggests that when AI systems do mention Savaria, the context is generally favorable or neutral.
The strongest platform signal for Savaria is Perplexity, where the brand recorded a 6.67% valid recommendation coverage rate. Copilot followed at 4.23% coverage, and Google AI Mode produced the largest absolute count with 5 valid recommendations at 4.00% coverage. Google AI Overviews produced 2 valid recommendations at 1.42% coverage. ChatGPT produced zero valid recommendations despite 1 mention.
The clearest platform gap is ChatGPT, where Savaria recorded no valid recommendations and only 1 neutral mention across 33 observations. This is notable because ChatGPT is a high-volume platform in the benchmark. Savaria's absence from ChatGPT recommendations represents a specific, addressable gap.
The benchmark also shows that all 442 qualified September observations fell into the Brand Recommendation cluster. The pricing and value cluster and the multi-brand comparison cluster recorded zero qualified observations in both July and September 2026. The current public benchmark can speak to which brands are named and recommended, but cannot yet measure how Savaria performs in pricing or head-to-head comparison contexts.
What Savaria Is Winning
Questions This Section Answers
- Where does Savaria perform best in AI recommendations, and on which platforms?
- Does Savaria's zero-negative-mention record give it a sentiment advantage in the stairlift category?
Savaria's clearest win is its framing quality. The brand recorded zero negative mentions across 49 total mentions in September 2026, producing a net sentiment score of 0.3878. This places Savaria ahead of Lifeway Mobility at 0.2792, Acorn Stairlifts at 0.3182, and 101 Mobility at 0.1622. While Savaria's sentiment score trails the category leaders, the absence of negative framing means the brand is not being actively cautioned against in AI answers.
Savaria also shows a narrow but meaningful recommendation pocket on Perplexity. The brand recorded 1 valid recommendation on Perplexity across 15 observations, producing a coverage rate of 6.67%. This is higher than Savaria's overall coverage rate of 2.71% and suggests that Perplexity's retrieval and synthesis patterns are more favorable to Savaria than other platforms.
On Copilot, Savaria recorded 3 valid recommendations across 71 observations, producing a coverage rate of 4.23%. This is also above the brand's overall coverage rate. The Copilot platform appears to surface Savaria more effectively than ChatGPT, where the brand recorded zero valid recommendations.
Savaria's presence rate of 11.09% is not the lowest in the category. The brand appears more often than Mobility Plus at 1.58%. This presence provides a foundation that can be converted into recommendation credit with targeted improvements.
Where Savaria Has the Clearest AI Visibility Gaps
Questions This Section Answers
- Why does Savaria appear in AI answers but rarely earn valid recommendations?
- Which platforms show Savaria's largest gap between mentions and recommendations?
- Which competitors capture the recommendation credit when Savaria is mentioned but not recommended?
Savaria's primary gap is recommendation conversion. The brand appears in 49 qualified observations but earns only 12 valid recommendations. This means that in 37 observations where Savaria is mentioned, the brand is not recommended. The benchmark data does not specify whether these mentions are neutral references, comparison anchors, or context mentions, but the pattern suggests that AI systems recognize Savaria as a relevant entity without positioning it as a recommended choice.
The gap is most pronounced on ChatGPT. Savaria recorded 1 neutral mention and zero valid recommendations across 33 ChatGPT observations. By contrast, Bruno recorded 12 valid recommendations on ChatGPT at 36.36% coverage, Stannah recorded 12 at 36.36%, and Harmar recorded 8 at 24.24%. Savaria's complete absence from ChatGPT recommendations represents a significant displacement opportunity.
On Google AI Overviews, Savaria recorded 2 valid recommendations across 141 observations, producing a coverage rate of 1.42%. This is well below the platform's category leaders: Bruno at 34.04%, Stannah at 31.21%, AmeriGlide at 29.79%, and Harmar at 28.37%. Google AI Overviews is the highest-volume platform in the benchmark with 141 qualified observations, making Savaria's low conversion rate on this platform a material gap.
On Google AI Mode, Savaria recorded 5 valid recommendations across 125 observations, producing a coverage rate of 4.00%. While this is Savaria's strongest platform by absolute recommendation count, it remains far below the platform leaders: AmeriGlide at 32.00%, Bruno at 24.80%, and Harmar at 23.20%. Google AI Mode is the second-highest-volume platform with 125 qualified observations.
The competitive displacement pattern is clear. When Savaria is mentioned but not recommended, the recommendation credit typically goes to Bruno, Harmar, Stannah, or AmeriGlide. These four brands collectively hold recommendation coverage rates between 21.49% and 29.41%, while Savaria sits at 2.71%. The gap between Savaria and the fourth-place brand, AmeriGlide, is 18.78 percentage points.
Biggest Opportunity
Questions This Section Answers
- Which AI platforms offer the clearest path from presence to recommendation for Savaria?
- What evidence layer changes could convert Savaria's Google AI Mode and AI Overviews mentions into recommendations?
- How much recommendation coverage could Savaria gain by improving conversion on Google platforms?
Savaria's biggest opportunity is converting its existing presence into recommendation credit on Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. These two platforms account for 266 of the 442 qualified observations in the September 2026 benchmark, representing 60.18% of the total measurement. Savaria currently earns 7 valid recommendations across these two platforms combined, producing a coverage rate of 2.63%. The category leaders earn between 24.80% and 34.04% coverage on these same platforms.
The path from reference to recommendation on these platforms likely runs through the citation and evidence layer. Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews synthesize from indexed web content, structured data, and authoritative sources. Savaria's low conversion rate on these platforms suggests that the brand's public evidence layer may not be providing the specific signals that AI systems use to form recommendations. This could include product comparison content, third-party reviews, installation and service documentation, or structured data that positions Savaria as a recommended option.
The opportunity is specific and measurable. If Savaria increased its coverage rate on Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews from 2.63% to 10.00%, the brand would earn approximately 27 valid recommendations across these platforms, up from 7. This would move Savaria into closer contention with Handicare at 12.67% and Lifeway Mobility at 9.73%.

Why This Matters
Questions This Section Answers
- How concentrated are AI recommendations among the top stairlift brands?
- Why is presence alone insufficient for Savaria in AI-generated buyer shortlists?
AI systems are increasingly forming the buyer shortlist before a consumer ever visits a brand website. In the stairlifts category, the September 2026 benchmark shows that AI-generated recommendations are concentrated among four brands: Bruno, Harmar, Stannah, and AmeriGlide. These brands collectively hold recommendation coverage rates between 21.49% and 29.41%, while Savaria sits at 2.71%. In the majority of high-intent stairlift queries, Savaria is not being recommended.
Presence alone is not enough. Savaria appears in 11.09% of qualified observations, comparable to Acorn Stairlifts at 24.89% in terms of raw mention frequency. But presence without recommendation conversion means the brand is being referenced without being chosen. The next move is targeted correction of the prompt, page, and citation layers that determine whether Savaria is mentioned as context or recommended as a solution.

Sentiment Score
Questions This Section Answers
- How is Savaria's sentiment score calculated, and what do its 30 neutral mentions indicate?
- How does Savaria's sentiment score compare to the category leaders?
Sentiment Score = (positive mentions × 1 + neutral mentions × 0 + negative mentions × -1) / total mentions
Savaria's sentiment score for September 2026 is 0.3878, calculated as (19 × 1 + 30 × 0 + 0 × -1) / 49.
This score matters because unclassified mention counts are misleading. A brand that appears frequently but is mentioned only as a comparison anchor or cautionary example is not achieving the same outcome as a brand that is positively recommended. Savaria's zero negative mentions is a genuine positive, but its 30 neutral mentions suggest that the brand is often referenced without strong positive framing.
Share of voice is a diagnostic metric, not a business KPI. A positive recommendation, a neutral reference, a cautionary mention, and a competitor-displaced mention are not equal in value. Counting all mentions as wins is bad measurement. Classified sentiment is required before interpreting AI visibility, because it distinguishes between brands that are being actively recommended and brands that are merely being acknowledged.
Savaria's sentiment score of 0.3878 places the brand seventh of ten, ahead of Lifeway Mobility at 0.2792, Acorn Stairlifts at 0.3182, 101 Mobility at 0.1622, and Mobility Plus at 0.1429. The brand trails the category leaders: Stannah at 0.5963, Handicare at 0.5856, Bruno at 0.5714, AmeriGlide at 0.5519, and Harmar at 0.5286.

Methodology
- This report is a benchmark-based analysis of Savaria's AI recommendation visibility in the stairlifts category for September 2026. It is not a client implementation case study and does not imply that CiteWorks Studio caused any benchmark outcome.
- The reporting window is September 2026. The benchmark series runs from July 2026 to September 2026, with August 2026 serving as an intermediate month in which no tracked brand recorded a valid recommendation.
- Six AI platforms were tracked: ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode. All six platforms had qualified observations in September 2026.
- The September 2026 measurement began with 800 source prompt-surface observations. After qualification, 442 observations remained in the public benchmark denominator. The public version does not expose a unique prompt count.
- The competitor universe consists of ten tracked brands: 101 Mobility, Acorn Stairlifts, AmeriGlide, Bruno, Handicare, Harmar, Lifeway Mobility, Mobility Plus, Savaria, and Stannah.
- Three public high-intent clusters were defined: Brand Recommendation (C01), Stairlift Brand and Model Comparisons (C02), and Stairlift Pricing, Cost and Quotes (C03). All 442 qualified September observations fell into the Brand Recommendation cluster.
- Stage 0 extraction retained the query, AI/search surface, answer, brand outcome, recommendation placement, sentiment, and, where exposed, citations or attributable evidence sources.
- A mention is counted when a tracked brand appears in a qualified observation, regardless of whether the mention is a recommendation.
- A valid recommendation is counted when a brand receives a legitimate recommendation in a qualified observation. Negative, neutral, cautionary, comparison-anchor, and listed-only mentions are not counted as valid recommendations unless the dataset explicitly marks them as valid recommendations.
- The qualified denominator of 442 observations differs from the raw collection total of 800 prompts. Recommendation percentages apply only to the qualified set.
- Savaria's metrics are based on 49 total mentions, 12 valid recommendations, 7 top-three recommendations, and 2 rank-one recommendations. Small-count brands such as Savaria carry limited observations, and percentages should be read with the absolute counts beside them.
- The August 2026 measurement recorded zero valid recommendations for all ten brands. The benchmark treats this as an instrument-state anomaly rather than a competitive outcome. September 2026 restores a differentiated order for nine of the ten brands.
- Directional analysis identifies changes worth investigating. It does not establish their cause. Source presence is evidence about the information environment and is not automatically proof that the source caused the recommendation.
