Executive Summary
The June 2026 LLM Authority Index benchmark for CRM Software reveals a market where AI recommendation concentration is accelerating, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 occupies a structurally difficult position. The brand appears in 31.1% of all AI responses across six platforms, placing it among the most visible CRM platforms in the category. Yet it receives valid recommendations in only 5.4% of observations, with a Top 3 rate of 3.3% and a Rank 1 rate of 1.7%.
This gap between presence and recommendation is the defining pattern in the dataset. Across 458 total mentions, 270 are neutral and 188 are positive. The brand receives zero negative mentions. The net sentiment score of 0.41 reflects a brand that is consistently discussed but not actively recommended. When AI systems construct buyer shortlists, Microsoft Dynamics 365 repeatedly falls outside the top tier.
The brand performs best in the Pricing and Cost Evaluation cluster, where it achieves 8.0% Top 10 coverage and a Rank 1 rate of 4.4%. This is its strongest cluster by recommendation behavior, suggesting AI systems occasionally position it as a viable enterprise option when cost is the primary consideration. Even so, that performance lags considerably behind category leaders: Zoho CRM achieves 40.0% Top 10 coverage in the same cluster, and Pipedrive reaches 31.3%.
The weakest cluster is Comparison and Alternatives, where Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves only 3.6% Top 10 coverage despite 27.6% response presence. In this evaluation-stage cluster, the brand is cited frequently as a reference point in enterprise CRM discussions but rarely earns ranked recommendation credit.
The strongest platform signal in the dataset comes from Google AI Overviews, where Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves 10.4% valid recommendation coverage and a Rank 1 rate of 7.9%. On ChatGPT, the brand appears in 44.5% of responses but receives valid recommendations in only 6.1% of observations, with a net sentiment score of 0.24, the lowest across all six platforms. On Copilot, valid recommendation coverage falls to 4.2%, with zero Top 3 recommendations recorded.
The modeled monthly AI opportunity value for the CRM Software category stands at $29.1 million. Microsoft Dynamics 365 captures $473,492 in AI Authority Value, representing 1.6% of the total category opportunity. The brand leaves $28.6 million in uncaptured modeled opportunity, the largest absolute gap among the top five brands by response presence.
What Microsoft Dynamics 365 Is Winning
Strongest cluster: Pricing and Cost Evaluation. Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves its highest recommendation coverage in the Pricing and Cost Evaluation cluster, with 8.0% Top 10 coverage, a Rank 1 rate of 4.4%, and an average rank of 2.11. This is the only cluster where the brand approaches competitive recommendation performance, suggesting that AI systems recognize it as a credible enterprise option when buyers are evaluating cost alongside capability.
Strongest platform: Google AI Overviews. On Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves 10.4% valid recommendation coverage, a Rank 1 rate of 7.9%, and an average rank of 1.84. This platform accounts for 25 of the brand's 81 total valid recommendations, making it the most favorable platform in the dataset for recommendation-stage visibility.
No negative framing recorded. Across all 458 mentions in this benchmark, Microsoft Dynamics 365 receives zero negative mentions. The brand is never framed as a cautionary or poor-fit choice, which preserves baseline trust signals even where recommendation coverage is low.
Sustained enterprise reference positioning. The brand is consistently cited across all six platforms in enterprise comparison contexts, appearing in 31.1% of all AI responses. This level of presence ensures that buyers searching for enterprise CRM options will encounter Microsoft Dynamics 365, even when it does not reach the recommended shortlist.
Where Microsoft Dynamics 365 Has the Clearest AI Visibility Gaps
Discovery and Evaluation cluster. Microsoft Dynamics 365 appears in 36.6% of responses in this cluster but achieves only 4.9% valid recommendation coverage. Its Top 3 rate of 2.1% and Rank 1 rate of 0.6% place it far behind Zoho CRM at 35.8% Top 10 coverage and Pipedrive at 33.9%. The brand is present in the conversation but almost never among the top recommended options when buyers are forming initial shortlists, which is where shortlist eligibility is most often determined.
Comparison and Alternatives cluster. This is the weakest cluster in the dataset. Despite 27.6% response presence, Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves only 3.6% Top 10 coverage with a Rank 1 rate of 0.4%. Zoho CRM leads this cluster at 27.4% Top 10 coverage, while Pipedrive reaches 25.6%. The brand is cited as a comparison anchor but is not being recommended as the primary option when buyers are actively weighing alternatives.
ChatGPT platform. On ChatGPT, Microsoft Dynamics 365 appears in 44.5% of responses but receives valid recommendations in only 6.1% of observations. The net sentiment score of 0.24 is the lowest recorded across all platforms in this report, reflecting predominantly neutral framing at scale. Zoho CRM achieves 48.6% recommendation coverage on the same platform; Pipedrive reaches 43.7%.
Copilot platform. On Copilot, Microsoft Dynamics 365 achieves only 4.2% valid recommendation coverage. The brand appears in 25.3% of responses but receives zero Top 3 recommendations, meaning it does not reach the top three shortlist positions on Microsoft's own AI platform in this benchmark period. The net sentiment score of 0.28 indicates predominantly neutral framing.
Competitor displacement pattern. Zoho CRM and Pipedrive consistently displace Microsoft Dynamics 365 across all three clusters. In the Discovery and Evaluation cluster, Zoho CRM captures 35.8% Top 10 coverage versus Microsoft Dynamics 365's 4.9%. In the Comparison and Alternatives cluster, Pipedrive achieves 25.6% versus 3.6%. In the Pricing and Cost Evaluation cluster, where Microsoft Dynamics 365 performs best, Zoho CRM still leads at 40.0% versus 8.0%. The displacement is systematic rather than isolated.
Biggest Opportunity
The clearest path from reference to recommendation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 lies in the Discovery and Evaluation cluster. This cluster accounts for 528 observations with a modeled opportunity value of $10.3 million, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 already holds 36.6% response presence, the highest recorded for any brand outside the top recommendation tier. The problem is not awareness: the brand is in the room. The problem is that the public evidence layer AI systems draw on to construct shortlists does not consistently position Microsoft Dynamics 365 as a primary option.
Improving recommendation conversion in this cluster from 4.9% toward the range achieved by Zoho CRM and Pipedrive would require authoritative third-party content that frames Microsoft Dynamics 365 as a leading enterprise choice rather than a contextual reference. Structured comparison coverage, consistent review profile signals, analyst citations, and owned answer pages optimized for retrieval would directly address the conversion gap where it is largest and where the modeled opportunity value is highest.
Prompt Evidence
Google AI Overviews / Pricing and Cost Evaluation Prompt: "Compare CRM pricing for mid-size companies" Result: Microsoft Dynamics 365 appeared as a recommended option at rank 2, representing one of its strongest recommendation outcomes across all platforms and clusters in the benchmark.
ChatGPT / Comparison and Alternatives Prompt: "Which CRM is better for sales teams, Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365?" Result: Microsoft Dynamics 365 was cited as a comparison reference but received neutral framing. The response described feature differences without recommending either platform, consistent with the brand's low Rank 1 rate in this cluster.
Perplexity / Discovery and Evaluation Prompt: "What is the best CRM software for enterprise businesses?" Result: Microsoft Dynamics 365 was mentioned but did not appear among the top three recommended options. Zoho CRM and Pipedrive received the primary shortlist positions.
Gemini / Discovery and Evaluation Prompt: "List the top CRM platforms for 2026" Result: Microsoft Dynamics 365 appeared in the response as an alternative option rather than a top recommendation, with Zoho CRM and Pipedrive occupying the leading positions, consistent with the brand's 0.69 sentiment score on Gemini alongside limited recommendation depth.

Why This Matters
Microsoft Dynamics 365 is among the most recognized enterprise CRM platforms in the global market. In AI-driven buyer discovery, that recognition does not translate into shortlist inclusion. The brand appears in nearly one-third of all AI responses but is recommended in fewer than one in twenty observations. Buyers who use AI for initial research are receiving shortlists that consistently place Zoho CRM and Pipedrive above Microsoft Dynamics 365, regardless of platform or intent stage.
The commercial consequence is measurable in modeled terms. The LLM Authority Index benchmark places the total monthly AI opportunity value for the CRM Software category at $29.1 million. Microsoft Dynamics 365 captures $473,492 of that value. The remaining $28.6 million represents buyers who encounter the brand in AI responses but are guided toward other platforms as the recommended choice. Closing the gap between response presence and recommendation power requires targeted work on the prompt, page, and citation layers that AI systems rely on to form buyer shortlists, and it starts with understanding exactly where in that process the conversion is failing.

Sentiment Score
Sentiment Score = (positive mentions x 1 + neutral mentions x 0 + negative mentions x -1) / total mentions
Sentiment Score = (188 x 1 + 270 x 0 + 0 x -1) / 458 = 188 / 458 = 0.41
A sentiment score of 0.41 places Microsoft Dynamics 365 in a predominantly neutral band. The brand is discussed at scale but is not actively recommended. This is consistent with its function as a reference point in enterprise CRM comparisons rather than a primary shortlist option.
This score matters because unclassified mention counts are misleading. A positive recommendation, a neutral reference, a cautionary mention, and a competitor-displaced mention are not equal outcomes and should not be counted as equivalent signals. Share of voice is a diagnostic metric, not a business KPI. Classified sentiment is required before drawing conclusions about AI visibility.

Methodology
- Report orientation. This is an AI Company Market Strategy Report based on the June 2026 LLM Authority Index benchmark for CRM Software. It reflects benchmark-based analysis, not a client implementation engagement.
- Reporting window. Data was collected during June 2026. Results reflect a point-in-time snapshot and should be interpreted accordingly.
- AI platforms tracked. ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity. All six platforms are represented in the observation dataset.
- Observations analyzed. 1,475 AI observations were analyzed across three public high-intent clusters. Unique prompt count was not available in the public version of this dataset.
- Competitor universe. Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Pipedrive, Freshsales, monday CRM, Insightly, Keap, and SugarCRM. This universe covers the most visible CRM platforms in the benchmark but is not a full market census.
- Public high-intent clusters. Three clusters were used: Discovery and Evaluation (consideration stage), Comparison and Alternatives (evaluation stage), and Pricing and Cost Evaluation (decision stage).
- Stage 0 role. Stage 0 extraction was used to classify raw AI responses before scoring, separating mentions from valid recommendations and applying sentiment classification to each observation.
- Definition of a mention. A mention is recorded when a company name or clearly identifiable brand reference appears in an AI-generated response, regardless of sentiment, rank, or recommendation intent.
- Definition of a valid recommendation. A valid recommendation is a positive, shortlist-quality mention that earns recommendation credit based on context, rank, and framing. Neutral references, cautionary mentions, and competitor-displaced appearances do not qualify as valid recommendations.
- Ranking interpretation. Top 10, Top 3, and Rank 1 rates are calculated against all observations in the relevant cluster or platform, not only against observations where the brand appears. Average recommended rank is calculated only among observations where the brand receives a valid ranked recommendation.
- Modeled value interpretation. Monthly AI Authority Value, AI Recommendation Value, and AI Visibility Assist Value are modeled benchmark estimates based on commercial intent signals and platform weights. These figures are not revenue, pipeline, or booked demand, and should not be interpreted as financial projections.
- Limitations. AI outputs change with model updates, source layer shifts, and query variation. Prompt selection may affect which brands appear in which contexts. Some platforms or prompt types may be underrepresented in this dataset. Ahrefs or organic search data was not supplied for this report, so the public evidence layer analysis is drawn from the LLM Authority Index benchmark only. This report is not a full audit of Microsoft Dynamics 365's digital presence.
