Key Takeaways

  • Brevo appears in 53.2% of AI responses and leads major platforms in net sentiment with a score of 0.72.
  • Its strongest performance is in email marketing platform comparisons, where it is often framed as a cost-effective alternative.
  • Brevo's top-three recommendation rate is 14.4%, trailing ActiveCampaign and Klaviyo despite strong overall visibility.
  • The main gap is pricing evaluation prompts, where weaker shortlist placement limits conversion from comparison visibility to decision-stage selection.

Answer Capsule

Brevo holds a strong second-tier position in AI-generated email marketing recommendations, with 30.6% valid recommendation coverage and the highest net sentiment score among major platforms at 0.72. Its clearest win is in comparison and pricing evaluation prompts, where it is frequently cited as a cost-effective alternative. The clearest weakness is a lower top-three recommendation rate of 14.4% compared to ActiveCampaign's 23.8% and Klaviyo's 21.5%. The clearest opportunity is converting its strong comparison-stage presence into higher top-three placement across all buyer stages.

Who This Report Is For

Executive Summary

Brevo appears in 53.2% of all AI responses across six platforms, making it one of the most visible brands in the email marketing category. It earns 579 positive mentions, 228 neutral mentions, and only 1 negative mention across 1,519 observations. Its net sentiment score of 0.72 is the highest among the top five platforms, indicating that when Brevo is mentioned, it is overwhelmingly framed positively.

The strongest cluster for Brevo is Email Marketing Platform Comparisons, where it achieves a 33.5% top-ten rate and captures $1.2 million in monthly AI Authority Value. This cluster represents consideration-stage buyers actively comparing platforms, and Brevo's performance here is its most commercially significant strength.

The weakest cluster is Email Marketing Software Pricing Evaluation, where Brevo's top-three rate drops to 11.8% and its valid recommendation coverage falls to 22.6%. This decision-stage cluster carries the highest buyer stage multiplier, and Brevo's weaker performance here means it is losing shortlist inclusion at the moment of purchase.

The strongest platform signal for Brevo is Gemini, where it captures $761,650 in monthly AI Authority Value, driven largely by recommendation value of $671,142. The clearest platform gap is Google AI Mode, where Brevo captures only $51,339 in monthly AI Authority Value despite a 50.4% raw mention presence rate, suggesting it is seen but not strongly recommended on that platform.

What Brevo Is Winning

Brevo leads the category in net sentiment score among major platforms at 0.72, with 579 positive mentions against only 1 negative mention across all observations. This near-zero negative framing is a significant competitive advantage in a category where cautionary and comparison-anchor mentions are common.

Brevo dominates the Email Marketing Platform Comparisons cluster, capturing $1.2 million in monthly AI Authority Value. This is its strongest cluster by a wide margin, and it outperforms every competitor in this consideration-stage buying moment.

On Gemini, Brevo captures $761,650 in monthly AI Authority Value, the highest platform-level value in the dataset. Recommendation value of $671,142 on this platform indicates that Gemini's responses frequently place Brevo in shortlist positions rather than listing it as background context.

On Google AI Overviews, Brevo achieves a 20.7% top-three rate and 33.9% valid recommendation coverage, making it one of the stronger performers on this surface and ahead of several competitors with larger organic search footprints.

Where Brevo Has the Clearest AI Visibility Gaps

Brevo's top-three recommendation rate of 14.4% lags behind ActiveCampaign's 23.8% and Klaviyo's 21.5%. This gap means Brevo is frequently mentioned and included in top-ten shortlists, but less frequently placed in the top-three positions that capture the most buyer attention and drive the highest modeled benchmark value.

In the Pricing Evaluation cluster, Brevo's top-three rate drops to 11.8% and valid recommendation coverage falls to 22.6%. This cluster represents buyers who are ready to purchase, not just researching. The buyer stage multiplier is highest here, and Brevo's weaker performance in this cluster means it is losing shortlist inclusion precisely when commercial intent is highest.

On Google AI Mode, Brevo appears in 50.4% of responses but captures only $51,339 in monthly AI Authority Value, with recommendation value of just $31,265. The gap between mention presence and recommendation value on this platform is the largest in Brevo's profile, pointing to a pattern of visibility without recommendation conversion.

On Perplexity, Brevo's mention presence rate is 67.2%, which is strong, but its top-three rate is 12.1% and recommendation value of $32,710 is low relative to that visibility. Perplexity shows a similar pattern to Google AI Mode: high presence, limited recommendation weight.

Biggest Opportunity

The clearest opportunity for Brevo is closing the gap between comparison-stage visibility and decision-stage recommendation placement. Brevo already performs well when buyers are evaluating options side by side. The gap appears in the moment when buyers narrow to a final shortlist and choose a platform. Strengthening the public evidence layer around pricing, specific use-case fit, and deliverability performance would give AI systems more structured, retrievable material to rank Brevo in decision-stage prompts. This is not a brand awareness problem. It is a source footprint and framing problem at the decision moment.

Prompt Evidence

Gemini / Email Marketing Platform Comparisons Prompt: "Compare Brevo vs ActiveCampaign vs Mailchimp for small business email marketing" Result: Brevo was recommended as a cost-effective alternative with strong automation features, appearing in the top three.

ChatGPT / Best Email Marketing Software Discovery Prompt: "What is the best email marketing software for ecommerce?" Result: Brevo was mentioned but ranked behind Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign, appearing in the top ten but not the top three.

Google AI Overviews / Email Marketing Software Pricing Evaluation Prompt: "Most affordable email marketing platform with good deliverability" Result: Brevo was recommended as a top option for affordability, appearing in the top three with positive framing around pricing and features.

Perplexity / Email Marketing Platform Comparisons Prompt: "Which email marketing platform has the best automation features for the price?" Result: Brevo was listed alongside ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp but was not ranked in the top three, appearing as a contextual reference rather than a primary recommendation.

What CiteWorks Studio Would Do Next

Phase 1: AI Market Discovery Audit Map Brevo's current recommendation positioning across all six platforms and identify the specific prompts where top-three placement is lost to ActiveCampaign and Klaviyo.

Phase 2: Recommendation Readiness Plan Identify the public evidence gaps in the Pricing Evaluation cluster and build a structured plan to improve Brevo's ranking in decision-stage prompts where buyer intent is highest.

Phase 3: Owned Answer Layer Buildout Develop authoritative pricing comparison pages, feature documentation, and use-case guides structured so AI systems can retrieve and synthesize them for decision-stage queries.

Phase 4: Citation / Authority Layer Development Strengthen third-party citation sources including comparison articles, review aggregations, and community discussions that reinforce Brevo's positioning as a top shortlist recommendation across platforms.

Phase 5: Monthly AI Visibility and Recommendation Tracking Monitor Brevo's recommendation coverage, top-three rate, and sentiment across all six platforms monthly, with specific attention to the Pricing Evaluation cluster and Google AI Mode's visibility-to-recommendation gap.

Why This Matters

Brevo is winning the comparison moment but losing the decision moment. In an AI-driven buyer journey, the difference between being compared and being chosen is the difference between consideration and selection. Buyers who encounter Brevo in comparison prompts may still choose ActiveCampaign or Klaviyo if those platforms appear higher in decision-stage responses. The gap in top-three placement is where that choice is made.

AI presence alone is not enough. Brevo's strong sentiment and comparison-stage performance provide a solid foundation, but the next move is targeted correction of the prompt, page, and citation layers that shape decision-stage recommendations. The brands that close the gap between comparison visibility and decision-stage shortlist placement will capture disproportionate share of AI-driven buyer choice in the email marketing category.

Sentiment Score

Sentiment Score = (579 x 1 + 228 x 0 + 1 x -1) / 808 = 0.72

This score means Brevo's AI mentions are overwhelmingly positive. Only 1 of 808 mentions carries negative framing. Among the top five platforms tracked in this category, Brevo holds the highest net sentiment score.

Why this matters: Unclassified mention counts are misleading. Share of voice is a diagnostic metric, not a business KPI. A positive recommendation, a neutral reference, a cautionary mention, and a competitor-displaced mention are not equal in commercial value. Counting all mentions as wins produces distorted visibility reporting. Classified sentiment is required before drawing conclusions about AI recommendation health. Brevo's 0.72 score indicates that when AI systems reference the brand, the framing is favorable. This is a strong foundation, but sentiment score alone does not determine recommendation placement. Placement is determined by the source footprint and framing quality behind the recommendation.

Methodology

  1. This report is based on the LLM Authority Index 2026 AI Market Discovery Index for Email Marketing Service, a benchmark-based analysis of AI-generated recommendations. It is not a client implementation case study, and the findings reflect benchmark data rather than a CiteWorks Studio engagement outcome.
  2. Data was collected in June 2026 as a point-in-time snapshot. AI platform outputs change over time, and findings should be interpreted accordingly.
  3. Six AI platforms were tracked: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, and Google AI Overviews.
  4. A total of 1,519 observations were analyzed across three public high-intent clusters.
  5. The competitor universe includes 10 companies: Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Brevo, Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, GetResponse, HubSpot, Kit (ConvertKit), and Klaviyo.
  6. Three public buyer intent clusters were used for this report: Discovery (awareness stage), Comparison (consideration stage), and Pricing Evaluation (decision stage). The full LLM Authority Index report includes 10 clusters. The three-cluster public dataset may underrepresent Brevo's performance in other buyer intent categories not included here.
  7. Stage 0 refers to the raw extraction of AI responses before classification, sentiment scoring, or recommendation credit assignment. It is the unprocessed observation layer.
  8. A mention is defined as any appearance of the company name in an AI-generated response, regardless of sentiment, rank, or recommendation quality.
  9. A valid recommendation is a positive, shortlist-quality mention that earns recommendation credit based on placement, framing, and intent alignment. Visibility and valid recommendation credit are not the same metric and are not interchangeable.
  10. Monthly AI Authority Value is a modeled benchmark estimate assigned to valid top-three recommendations using category-level search volume, click modeling, and conversion benchmarks. It is not revenue, pipeline, or booked demand. It is a comparative index figure used to assess relative recommendation weight across brands and platforms.
  11. Ahrefs data, if referenced, is used only as supporting evidence for traditional organic search visibility, domain authority, and source footprint signals. It does not directly measure or prove AI recommendation influence.
  12. Limitations: AI outputs are dynamic and can change between collection windows. Modeled values are estimates and not financial results. The public dataset covers 3 of 10 total clusters, which limits the scope of findings presented here. This report is an analytical interpretation of benchmark data and should not be treated as a full audit or complete market census.
